Stopping Susan Kennedy Will Require a United Effort

If Republicans, who gave birth to Governor Schwarzenegger, are once again going to save him from himself it will take an extraordinary and united effort. It will require moderate and conservative Republicans to join together.

Senator Ackerman was correct when he commented on the appointment of Susan Kennedy stating, "She was the wrong pick for chief of staff. First of all, she's a Democrat, and a Republican should have a Republican chief of staff. And second, she was Gray Davis' (Cabinet secretary). She was there when a lot of his policy was being developed that led to his recall. Those aren't the best credentials." (Sacramento Bee, 12/1/05)

There is already a webpage http://www.stopsusankennedy.com/ which may be the best place to begin to gather a united voice.

But, as stated in my last post, it will require a standard bearer of stature. The recall was ignighted as a grassroots effort. The establishment within the party did not support the effort. Radio talkshow hosts like Eric Hogue helped to keep the recall alive, and an infusion of money from Rep. Darrell Issa made it real. This effort will require the tireless efforts of the grassroots, support by our friends in radio and money to make it real.

One thing is for sure, this "crisis" presents a great opportunity for one elected Republican (or maybe non-elected) to establish his or her presence as California's Republican voice. It will be interesting to see who steps into the current void. One other thing is for sure, doing so may once again save Arnold Schwarzenegger from himself.
